Hookers & Hangers — Hookers

The gals over at Falling For Fiction came up with a fun idea for a blog hop.   First (Hookers) and last (hangers) lines are so important, not only for the book, but also for the each chapter.  Those lines keep the reader moving through the story and anticipating what will come next.  For today, I will post the first lines of the couple of chapters that I have written in Book III of the Shifters Novel series and maybe a couple from my newest release, Posers.  On Wednesday, I will post the last lines.  Let me know what you think, but be kind.  They are from a work in progress. 😉

Nate ran, his heart pounding so hard in his chest he thought that his ribcage might explode.  (Book III, Shifters Novels)

The skirmishes began in the east, near the portal to Leonin. (Book III, Shifters Novel)

The masses waited silently in the chamber that positively crackled with tension when the woman was led in.  (Posers)

Charlie drew back her blade and sprinted across the grass.  (Posers)

Make sure to check out the other writers participating in the blog hop.

  1. I like the first and last ones best. Sounds like there is a lot of action in your books. 🙂

  2. Thanks Nick. They are action packed! I never thought that I would be writing so much action, but it is really fun. 🙂
